Congratulations to every person in New Tecumseth that participated in Earth Hour 2011.  Powerstream reported a 2.0 MW savings, or about 9.2 percent decrease in energy consumption.

Although primarily symbolic in nature, Powerstream calculated that the energy saved during just this one hour in York Region and Simcoe County totalled 86.7 MW, enough electricity to power 2,627 average homes for a day or more than 7 homes for the whole year.

The real change will be realized when we choose to make better choices every day!
